Keith R.A. DeCandido is an award-winning, best-selling author who has written more than 60 novels, more than 135 short stories, more than 75 comic books, and more nonfiction than he’s comfortable counting. His media tie-in work can be found in nearly 40 different licensed universes from Alien to Zorro, including TV shows (Star Trek, Supernatural), movies (Cars, Kung Fu Panda), games (World of Warcraft, Resident Evil), comics (Spider-Man, Thor), and literary characters (Sherlock Holmes, Joe Ledger). He’s also written in tons of worlds of his own creation, including several fantastical police procedurals (Dragon Precinct and its sequels, the Supernatural Crimes Unit: NYPD series), urban fantasies (The Adventures of Bram Gold, the Tales of Cassie Zukav, Weirdness Magnet), and superhero fiction (The Inflictors, Super City Police Department). He also has been writing extensively about pop culture for the award-winning web site Reactor Magazine since 2011. Keith’s body of work has been recognized by the International Association of Media Tie-in Writers, which awarded him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009, and the New England Science Fiction Association, which honored him with the prestigious Skylark in 2026. Keith is also an editor (with dozens of anthologies and book lines to his credit), a martial artist (a fourth-degree black belt in karate), a musician (percussionist with the bands Boogie Knights and the Chris Abbott Band), an avid baseball fan (eagerly following his beloved New York Yankees), and possibly some other stuff he can’t recall due to insufficient sleep.
